County Convention

The 2018 Hawai‘i County Democratic Party convention will be held on Saturday April 28th from 8am-4pm at Sangha Hall in Hilo. This will be an exciting convention with a full agenda. Our program will include voting on new rules, resolutions, and party platform recommendations to be forwarded to the State Democratic Party for consideration. Only convention delegates are allowed to vote, though observers are welcome. All Delegates and Alternates to the State Convention voted in at Precinct Meetings on 3/7/18 are Automatically Delegates to the County Convention. Online registration is closed. If you are an elected or appointed delegate or wish to be an observer, we will do our best to accommodate you on a walk-up basis the morning of the convention.

New rules, resolutions and platform will be determined at the pre-convention meeting held on April 7th from 11am-3pm at Waimea Elementary School cafeteria. Join us and add your voice to the process! CLICK HERE for more information, CLICK HERE to view a sample resolution.

At County Convention, look forward to meeting and hearing from over 20 incumbent and new candidates running for office in the 2018 elections. State Party Chair Tim Vanderveer will also be in attendance, sharing his vision for the Democratic Party of Hawai'i and sharing information about our upcoming State Convention, being held on Hawai'i Island for the first time ever this year! If you’re a State Convention Delegate or Alternate, remember to mark your calendar for this historic event on May 26th and 27th at the Hilton Waikoloa Village.
