LEAGUE OF WOMEN VOTERS INVITES CANDIDATES TO
PARTICIPATE IN DNET.ORG
Honolulu, Hawaii - The League of Women Voters of
Hawaii invites all candidates for office to
participate in its award-winning voter education
web site, DemocracyNet or DNet (www.dnet.org).
Dnet, part of the new Capwiz ElectionTM tool
created by Capitol Advantage, is a free source
of nonpartisan election and voting information
for the upcoming 2004 state and federal
elections. The site features unfiltered position
statements from the candidates and comprehensive
information on voter registration, voting
procedures and ballot measures or referenda at
the federal and state levels.
“The LWV of Hawaii is proud to embrace the
Internet as an educational tool in engaging
citizens and candidates in the election process.
Our focus right now is on getting candidates up
and running in DNet.org before the Primary
Election on September 18th. In DNet, the
candidate information is entered directly by the
candidate, so it is important that we get as
much participation as possible from candidates”,
says Andrea Dean, DNet Affiliate Manager for
Hawaii.
For more information on participating in DNet,
on establishing a DNet link, or becoming a DNet
volunteer, please contact Andrea Dean at (808)
889-5806 or via email andrea@hawaiipacific.net.
The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan
political organization, encourages the informed
and active participation of citizens in
government, works to increase understanding of
major public policy issues, and influences
public policy through education and advocacy.
